The area we chose is the outdoor space behind Gates, bounded by Purnell Center for the Arts and Doherty Hall. It consists of a lawn area, several winding paths, a hillside and a set of stairs by Doherty Hall to get from the lower level up to The Cut, the main lawn area at campus entrance. We chose this area out of curiosity about this area we see often but rarely use, and the challenge of activating a hillside to meet the needs of its users.
