01 Directed Storytelling

Overview

We used Directed Storytelling to gain a better understanding of our users’ overall cooking experience and identify the major areas for improvement. Our insights from this helped us in picking our areas of focus.
Our participants included both expert and novice cooks and we initially situated our questions around the key factors that affected their meal planning—choice of a recipe, how they acquired all the required ingredients, etc. We then moved on to discuss their actual experience of cooking in the kitchen. We also spoke about their preferred choice of help and how they learn new recipes.
