In order create a wine recommendation site that was truly personalized, it was important to explore our users' needs. We did this by conducting a competitive analysis, followed by directed storytelling, and brick/mortar observations.

We consolidated the results from these techniques to determine the important aspects of wine recommendation and narrow our target user group.
