02 User Research: Interviews

Interviews and Directed Story Telling were conducted with about 10-15 participants in the age group 20-30.

The questions were mainly about:

1) Criteria for deciding a trip

2) Information resources used

3) Prioritization of places to see (landmarks or lesser known places)

4) Narration of any trip that was interesting to them

5) Sharing of photos

Important results:

1) Word of mouth is the most reliable source of information and recommendations when deciding on a trip.

2) It is important to have a good travel story to tell back home. For this reason, visitng all the famous landmarks of a place is important as it helps others connect to their story.

3) Sharing of photos is still primarily confined to friends and family even though social networking applications affords sharing with more people.

4) Trips are constrained by time and budget (mostly group trips of 2 to 7 days duration)
