CareWear

Synthesis

Sensor Interaction

The sensing system consists of the the iPhone application CareWear and two sensors worn by the parent and child. Both the parent and the child wear sensors that sense their emotional and physical health. This is done through sensors such as cortisol level (sweat) and a heart rate monitor. The data is then sent from the sensor on the parent or child to the iPhone app CareWear, where it is interpreted. Based on the collected information, CareWear recommends changes in schedule. It helps the parent find ways to accomplish all his or her goals in the most efficient and most convenient way.

We chose a design that prescribed both the parent and child to wear watches equipped with sensors. Because the child wants to emulate his parent, the child will wear his own watch, and therefore the child's watch will collect reliable information.
