Decision

After our speed dating process, it was pretty clear that two of our ideas were the best choices. People tended to gravitate toward the game show concept and the drawing-on-people concept.

The game show concept was particularly positive with middle-age and older men, and nobody expressed any dislike for the idea. The drawing-on-people concept was extremely positive with younger men, but the older crowd expressed serious privacy concerns about having people draw on them.

While we loved the drawing-on-people concept, and felt it was fun and innovative, we eventually concluded that the privacy issues were insurmountable. Although we thought of several solutions to minimize the privacy issues, such as blurring faces, turning people into cartoons, or using pre-recorded footage instead of a live feed, we found that each of these ideas diminished the appeal of people-watching. It seems that the appeal is deeply tied to the privacy issues.

So after a ton of discussion and debate, we decided to go with the game show concept.
