Bag Assist

The final design comprises the following features:

1) Bag tracking kiosk - User swipes ticket, the bar code is read and the kiosk provides information about where the bag is and when it will reach. The same kiosk is used to sign up for the "Bag Race" which is a fun visualization of which bag reaches first to the carousel.

2) Estimated time is to be determined statistically depending on which zone (each zone has a sensor) the bag is currently in and how long it takes bags to reach the carousel from that zone on an average. This information is to be conveyed both by the kiosk and by a mobile message.

3) A Big Screen Display to visualize the Bag Race and the journey of bags from the airplane to the carousel. As an added fun interaction, people can wave their ticket at it and it senses the waving action. The symbol on the display corresponding to their bags would then emulate the waving action and move on screen. To account for expressed privacy concerns, bags would be represented only by the visual symbols chosen for them.
