Finding Something to Eat at the Mall

Foodcourt

Finding something suitable to eat at the mall is difficult for Gladys. She is still not entirely sure what she can or cannot eat and why. With the abundance of options available in the mall food court, Gladys sees multiple places she might like to go to eat. She goes to Starbucks first, but is not sure if their food is OK to eat. Gladys pulls out her cell phone and loads the EatSmart application.

First, she decides to search for a venue by name: Starbucks. There are not too many options that are "green" or OK to eat, but there are some that are "yellow," indicating this may or may not be something good to eat. She scrolls down to the Chocolate Chip Muffin and attempts to see why this food may not be good to eat. The application informs Gladys that the muffin has a good deal of carbohydrates, nearly a quarter of her recommended daily value alone, something she would need to take into consideration when eating later in the day.

Not convinced she should eat the muffin, Gladys tries something else. She sees a few Chinese places to eat, but none of them are well-known venues. She decides to search for food by name and types in "chinese." EatSmart returns a large list of OK foods for Gladys to choose from, and she happily decides to buy a dish of chicken and broccoli.
