Findings

We had a number of interesting insights come out of our mall research. Some highlights were:

  • Nearly all people waiting were men waiting for their wives.
  • Several were retired, and expressed that they didn't mind waiting because they could do whatever they want with their time.
  • Only one person chose to stand while waiting.
  • People enjoy waiting if they have someone to talk to.
  • People feel tethered to the fitting room unless they have a cell phone

Some of the things we observed people doing while they wait include:

  • "People Watching."
  • Getting something to eat or drink.
  • Playing with cell phones.
  • Thinking about other things they could go and do.
