03 Directed Storytelling
|
|
We conducted directed storytelling with 5 participants and asked them to describe their last wine tasting experience. We tried to elicit users' desires and problems while attempting to do the wine tasting, needs and difficulties throughout the experience and desires related to learning about wine.
Findings
- Learning wine vs. Socializing
People had different motivations for wine tasting - some wanted to learn and explore about different wines and others considered it simply as a social event to enjoy with friends and family
- Convenience and Accessibility
Several participants expressed the difficulty of finding a wine tasting event or having to drive long distances to get to a winery. One participant who previously enjoyed wine tasting hadn't gone to one for several years after moving to the east coast as finding wineries and wine tasting events were much more difficult.
- Affordability
People mentioned that wine could become an expensive habit and this made them hesitant of learning more about wine.
