Interaction
How to use it

The Smart Shelter has various interactions to accommodate different user needs.

First interaction happens when a bus rider enters the bus shelter area. The shelter senses that the bus rider entered the bus shelter area so that it can notify to the bus drivers that there is a potential bus rider. This interaction makes sure that people who are not easily visible to the bus drivers to see them and display their existence.

The second interaction happens as bus riders come close to the sides of the shelter and see all the information about the buses that stop at the bus stop. The sides of the shelter show the estimated arrival time of all the buses and their availability.

Many users can stop their interaction at this stage. If bus riders want to find out about the alternative routes, they can continue to the map display which is at the back of the shelter. The display is touch sensitive where the bus riders can specify their destinations.
