We were able to interview several cheese customers:

  • 1 novice user
  • 1 "advanced user"
  • 2 expert users

We gained a number of key insights from our interviews:

  • A novice may be intimidated to ask the cheesemonger for advice.
  • The cheesemonger may not warn the customer that a cheese cannot be prepared in a certain way.
  • When throwing a wine and cheese party, it may be useful to put out names of cheeses for the guests with allergies.
  • Novice cheesemongers may want to go with a friend who knows more about cheese to the cheese counter the first time.
