Speed Dating

Concept evaluation

We conducted speed dating in an in-class environment to evaluate our four main concept areas. This resulted in an addition of a new scenario and the removal of a few scenarios. We augmented this with 3 speed dating sessions with actual dog owners.

  • Individual Tracking: tracking of weight and temperature
  • General Health Info: based on dog breed, age, time of year
  • Local Health Info: local health alerts such tick season, new cases of worms

  • Political Activism: petitions, new political initiatives
  • Hot topics: garbage pick-up social event, puppy meet and greet

  • Etiquette: your dog misbehaves, another owner misbehaves
  • Frequency Use Info: most popular time of day, most popular day of the week
  • Photo Booth/ Webcam: purchase pictures of you and your dog at the park

  • Social games: involves multiple dogs and owners
  • Individual games: vends toys to use with your dog

Findings

Based on the follwing findings from the speed dating, we narrowed down our focus into "dog park info" and "game play" concept.

  • Non-localized information can be found elsewhere.
  • Dog park activities should be the focus.
  • Practicality matters.
