Needs, Lead, DiscussUsing Speed Dating, we drew up storyboards for each of the top five ideas. We also developed needs, lead, and dicussion topics for each storyboard. The results of our Speed Dating activity showed that people like the Talking Flower, Charitable Peg Board, and Graffiti Karma. However, people only liked the Charitable Peg Board because of the charity aspect, not because of the interaction. Charitable Peg BoardNeeds: Community outreach in a way that’s fun. Lead: Do you donate to charity? Is this an experience you share with your kids? Discuss: How does donating to charity make you feel? Is this something you would like to share with your kids? Talking FlowerNeeds: Information in exhibits is often incongruous with the installation. The talking flower blends into the environment and provides information without standing out. Lead: Have you gone to a museum and wanted more information than what was displayed? Discuss: Would you feel comfortable interacting with an inanimate object? Graffiti KarmaNeeds: Self expression that curbs destructive behavior & illegal tagging. Lead: Do you hang paintings or inspirational quotes on your walls? Have you ever created refrigerator art? Discuss: Would you like this to be a collaborative experience? Tin Can TalkNeeds: To expand your interaction field and interact with someone not in your physical space and possibly a stranger. Lead: Did you use tin cans to play with as a child? Have you ever picked up a ringing payphone? Discuss: What level of interaction with a stranger would you be comfortable with? Puddle VisionNeeds: To expand your interaction field and interact with someone not in your physical space and possibly a stranger. Lead: Did you use tin cans to play with as a child? Have you ever picked up a ringing payphone? Discuss: What level of interaction with a stranger would you be comfortable with?
