Choosing a Task and User GroupThe first step was to choose a task and a user group from given options. After trying out possible matches, we agreed on mall walkers and finding a community meeting place as we found the highest need from it. BrainstormingIt was followed by a bainstorming session on mall walkers. We addressed important issues about mall walkers, including general problems elderly people have and activities they might desire in a group. From the affinity diagraming (Figure 1), we found that elderly people join mall walking groups mainly because that they have health concerns and miss their friends and families.
